AI agents and your money ·

Can an AI agent use your bank account?

Your money. Your AI agents. Your rules. A sample $60.00 permission for one approved purchase, with equal Visa and direct USDC paths.

AI agents can help plan purchases and manage tasks, but access to financial systems depends on the provider’s rules and the authority given to the agent. A customer’s instruction does not automatically override a bank’s access policy.

Chase’s public terms, for example, require AI agents to identify themselves and allow Chase to limit or terminate agent access. The useful question for a customer is how to give an agent a specific financial task while keeping control of their money.

Start with the customer’s authority

The person or business owns the account and funds. An agent receives permission to perform a task. That permission should identify the agent, its operator, the customer it represents and the purchase it is allowed to complete.

RT.APP connects AI agent identity and permissions to spending rules and payment execution. You define the amount, recipient and approval boundary, and retain control over future purchasing permission.

Give the task a budget

A shopping task should have a defined spending limit. Changes to the approved scope should follow the applicable approval rules. A permission to buy one item is different from authority to spend the account’s full balance.

A useful purchase flow keeps the order, payment status and receipt connected. Refunds and payments already submitted follow their applicable processes; revoking future permission does not reverse a completed payment.

Choose the payment route

Single-use Visa debit cards support eligible existing card checkouts with supported purchase controls. Direct USDC supports participating merchants and approved recipients. Optional x402 supports compatible AI clients and services; direct USDC does not depend on x402.

The available route depends on the merchant, customer eligibility, network and provider controls.

Keep the wider money picture in view

Agent spending is one part of how a person or business uses money. Operating payments, available funds, pending transactions and reserved amounts still matter. Allocating eligible USDC to a yield strategy is a separate decision, with variable returns, costs, risks and withdrawal terms to review.

A vault’s historical annualized yield is not a guaranteed customer rate. RT fees and strategy costs reduce returns. Earn balances are not bank deposits and capital is at risk.
